About Sarah
Did you know exercising during chemotherapy has been shown to help the drug better target tumor cells? I walked and squatted my way through chemotherapy.
The last few years of my life have consisted of navigating several challenging health issues for my family and a Breast Cancer Diagnosis for myself at the age of 32.
I understand what it's like to feel lost in the medical system, overwhelmed by appointments, and like your life has become a series of waiting rooms and test results.
Over the past few years, I've navigated more medical complexity than I ever imagined possible. I reversed my own autoimmune diseases through diet, nutrition, and somatic work after my daughter was born in 2020. When my daughter threw up every night for three months in 2022, I took her to doctor after doctor and no one was able to help. Through extensive research, keeping a journal of symptom patterns and being extremely persistent, I was able to deduce the need for eliminating gluten in her diet. Finally achieving a Celiac diagnosis helped her regain her quality of life.
In October 2023, my son was diagnosed with Coats disease, a rare eye condition. I traveled monthly from Louisiana to Baltimore for multiple surgeries. In November of 2024, a couple of months after we learned his eye was stable and we no longer needed to travel to Baltimore regularly, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Unfortunately, my Breast Cancer Diagnosis was not straight forward. I was in-between stages. This made making medical decisions extremely complex and I wanted to make sure I fully understood the risks of every treatment on the table so my doctors and I could formulate the best possible treatment plan.
Through all of this, I learned to navigate the medical system strategically. I combined standard medical care with an integrative approach, supplements, nutrition, physical therapy, acupuncture, somatic work, energy healing, and faith. I learned to use AI to formulate better questions for my doctors.
Most importantly, I learned to regulate my nervous system so I could show up for my family and myself. I have trained in Sacred Somatics. Healthcare providers, including a psychiatrist who spends entire sessions helping patients prepare for medical appointments, have told me they see the need for what I offer.
I created Between the Appointments because I know what it's like to feel like your whole life revolves around medical care. And I'm here to help you remember that there's still so much life to live in between the appointments.
